Anyone have a favorite protein powder their using post op? I'm wanting to get this stuff purchased and on hand for after my surgery. Another thing "vitamins". Are you getting the chewables? Did any of you have to have your meds crushed?

I crush all my pills or use the liquid versions of them. I am going to be getting some body fortress protein powder on Tuesday to try. I hope it is a good as the reviews say.

I really dislike protein shakes, so I avoided flavoured protein powders.
Instead, I opted for Beneprotein. It is tasteless, so you can add it to foods like yogurt or mashed potatoes.  I ordered the powder from my pharmacy.

I didn't want to spend the extra money on chewable vitamins, so I waited until I could swallow regular ones. My surgeon wasn't too concerned that I went a month without vitamins. It is important that we take them in the long term, so not taking them in the short term wasn't a big deal.

Hope this helps.

I had bought Kaizen 100% Whey Protein in the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor to try to get used to it, and it's nice, I like it mixed in with 1/2 cup nonfat sugar free yogurt (any flavor) or with 1/2 cup non fat milk & 1/2 cup water. So far I've lost a bit of weight just trying to prepare myself for this 800 cal pre-op diet.
