Has anyone out there had any cosmetic surgery done yet? Had any excess skin removed? Is this also covered by MB health or is it classified as cosmetic, and we have to pay for it our self? Just heard of some gals needing it after they have reached their ideal weight.

I went to a plastic surgery clinic for a consult.  They said the nothing is covered by MB Health.  To get the stomach done is about 4,000.  If you want the total body lift (back and stomach, it's about 8,000.  The arms are 4,000 and so are the legs.

I am still on the fence as to whether I am going to do this.  I need to save up a little cash first.  I wish MB health would step up to the plate and at least cover the stomach.  They used to.

I have been advised it will be covered for those of us that had our surgery here through the pilot project. .  2 years minimum after surgery, 100 lbs. lost and a tummy tuck will be covered.

That would be awesome, I hope to get something done about the extra skin!!  My arms are the worst.

Fortunada - where did you get that information?

That would be so wondeful!!!

When I had my consult for my RNY in October, I was told that there was a surgeon in town who would give us a discount, but that the province would not cover it.

I so hope that you are right!

I was told this at my. last visit, I sure hope it's true.  It is only applicable for tummy.  Everything else we are on our own.  But who knows what Man. Health will do when we are ready for it!

I too had heard from two friends that also had the wls surgery that a tummy tuck yes, but anything else your on your own. They had their surgeries years ago though. So who knows what the real deal is now. Guess as we all hit our weight loss goals we'll find out.
