I am 7 days into the GD preop and is STRUGGLING!!!!!!
I can't concentrate, walk, talk or sleep.  I have ZERO coordination.  I am a NURSE!!! I need these to function.  I was at an inservice all day today made it through coffee break, left during lunch with my shake while everyone else ate the beautiful provided meal.  But by this afternoon I got more lightheaded, nauseated and emotional.  I couldn't stop bawling!! Yikes, I am cracking.  My boss, God love her has been so supportive.  I am going to try to do half days (8 hr shifts thankfully) for the rest of the week.  FOur more days to go............   HELP............
Has anyone else done this?  or am I really losing it??

It will be okay! Your boss is really nice to let you have half shifts. Pretty soon it will be over and you will be on the other side. The next 7 days are going to fly and this will be but a memory. See you on Sunday!!!!!

You will loose it all the morning of surgery!!  That is 85% of your stomach.  NOT your mind.

If you can, try drinking the Neste Citrus Tea (available at grocery stores) it is reduced calorie and I used to drink it as warm tea for the morning, cold all day.  Plus 2 litres of water.  Water, water and more water.

What kind of veggies are you eating?  I ate 1 cup of diced celery in the morning(snack) and the the 2cups of brussel sprouts at supper time.  Celery is primarily water and you will burn it off.  It takes longer to digest too.  Yes 3 cups TOTAL!!  You are burning lots of calories during your shifts as I did too.

It sure helps when then is some kind of support.  Nice to have a female boss too!

See you at the meet and greet, can hardly wait to see how you have been doing.

I haven't done the pre op diet, yet, one day at a time. You'll get there. Over half way done, you can do it!!!

There is nothing fun about the pre-op diet, but you will get through it!

I found that my brain kept short-circuiting. I couldn't find the words to finish my sentences. I also got very tired in the afternoon. By the end, I was feeling really sorry for myself. However, it was worth the effort. You will lost a lot of weight, and it will make your recovery easier.

Hang in there! It is sooo worth it in the end!

Well I made it through another day, PRAISE THE LORD!  It was much easier today.  Had my potassium checked, and it was all good.  Here Monday, Monday, Monday......
