Hey everyone......I want a diet coke soooo bad.....I actually had a few sips the other day!! It was great, just a different taste!

Do any of you have pop....be honest????

I have also heard that caffeine free is a better option if your going to have any. What do you think? I know how easy it could be to get back into old habits and don't want that, but also know that depriving yourself make me want something more. So confused!!!!!

At 16 months post op, I still get sick from more than 2 sips.  I feel nauseated from it.  However, if you fill the glass with ice, then pour pop into it and let it sit for a bit, it should be fine.
Of coarse this still doesn't work for me, lol.
I don't miss it though.  I have days when I crave it for about 2 min. kinda like smoking, and then it goes away.
I'm healthier without it, so I guess that's ok.

I just had a fresca for lunch today and it was FANTASTIC!! I have trouble with diet coke and diet pepsi. Diet sprite is better for me. I just have to drink it slowly.
See you on Firday!!! I can't wait.

I don't know about the sleeve, but I have GNY and I asked my Dr if I would be able to drink pop again, his comment to me was "if you want to blow your bowels apart"  apparently the carbonation causes your stomach to expand and can blow your bowels.  I had a glass of bubbly wine one night and was in so much pain after (I didn't realize it was carbonated).

My Dr did say that you could probably have a few sips, but he didn't recomend having a whole glass.

I would ask  you Dr before you try drinking anything that is carbonated.

I do have a few sips once in a while. Coca-Cola, the real thing! I love it.

Lori, you are right, the bubbles aren't good for us.

I let myself have one real sip. Then my second sip I let sit in my  mouth to disperse the carbonation. I really can't drink much more than a shot glass of the stuff without feeling it in my gut. I still let myself have a shot once or twice a week to taste.

Hello stranger!!

I open a Coke zero and put it in the fridge and wait 1 hour and then I can drink it.  I have even added a little bit of water to flatten abit.

I can drink 1/2 can in one sitting and then save the rest for after dinner.

I hope you and Nikki have a great time, wish I could afford to come and visit you!  Maybe next year.
