I don't want anyone to get discourage, I should tell you. I have always heard they do 8 surgeries a month, so I asked Julie yesterday, How many surgeries do they do a month? She said 3-4. I said that waiting list must be getting really long.
I tried to get a number of where I was on the list, ( you know how many people were ahead of me ) no luck. Julie said it's to hard to say because people either change there mind or have left the province to have it done elsewhere. That would explain when Nikki called last week and they were working on March referrals and this week they are into May. She has heard nothing about the surgeries stopping.

Might want to add some of this to the letter to Theresa O.

Julie is the nicest receptionist ever!!!

So who's got a May referral??

I was a March referral and I had my surgery end of November. I also talked to the hospital coordinator and they told me that normal months they do UP to 8 surgeries. But, really, what is a normal month?
I think also when it comes to figuring out where you are on the list, it gets difficult. Some people do change their minds, do move, do not meet criteria and might not be compliant with pre-op diet and other things.

I know it feels like an eternity when you are waiting for something you really want, but it is 100% worth it! Keep your eyes on the prize and you will get there!!

When I was in the hospital I asked Dr. Vergis how many surgeries a month they do and they have funding from the province to do 8 per months so that is what they do. I heard it straight from the horse's mouth so to speak.
