Done, I hope if we all send an email to Theresa,  it will make a difference for those still waiting.

Good Luck everyone.

I will definately send an email as well.

I was disappointed and just a little ticked to find out that Julie has never received my referral from my family Doctor. Believe me when I say his nurse will be getting an earful on Monday because she assured me it had been sent the end of November. That means that I am now going to be another 2 months waiting as I have wasted 2 months believing the letter was there.

Stay warm everyone!

Hey Karen, thats terrible that your referral has not even been sent yet. i dont know if 2 months has been wasted though. i would phone the drs office tomorrow am, have your referral sent over right then. then contact julie and explain the situation, because your referral will be dated (nov). and maybe she will place you on the list accordingly. just a thought. its probably worth a try. take care, and keep us posted

What should we be putting in our email exactly? Could someone come up with a form letter that we can use?

There are many of things you could put in the letter:
*For those of you who have already had the surgery, you could mention the positive changes in your life.
* If it made a difference in chronic disease.  If you are off any chronic medications.
* What difference it has made in your life.

For those of us who have not had the surgery:
*Concern on the length of time it has taken to get a consult.and the length of time from consult till surgery.
*The lack of timely communication between patient and admin staff.
*Encouragement of increasing funding, to do more surgeries.

Please feel free to add to the list.

To add to the above list, i think that criteria expansion is an important factor, as well as a suggestion of funding a full time bariatric surgeon as I dont believe any of the surgeons work full time at the clinic. I think a full ltime surgeon would speed up the process a bit. Pls feel free to add suggestions. Hopefully if enough of us forward our concerns, we may be heard
