Things that make you go hmmmm

So I went to the Dr for a check up today and I was only down 2 lbs from my last visit.  I am diligent at drinking my water and eating well below 800 calories per day with 74 grams of protein.  I started exercising last week with an hour of cardio and a 20 minute brisk walk.

Tips - what am I doing wrong??  I know I was down and I am thankful about that but I was expecting more.

You aren't doing anything wrong. Your body is doing the dreaded 3 week stall thing. It needs to catch up to itself and assess the situation..LOL keep going the course. The weight will come off again! I was stuck at the same weight for 2 weeks over the Christmas holidays and just  in the last 5 days I dropped 5 lbs.

Ahhh the three week stall. Mine was super gross. It seemed to last forever. It will end and the weight will start to fall off again. Hang in there my dear!
Take care

I'll hang in there - but it is annoying.  Does the 3 week stall continue to week 5?? or possibly week 6 (which will be next week because I am back at work on Jan 17).

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!!

Hi Allisson;

Plateaus are the most annoying part of any weight loss journey. I wish the rewards were always proportional to the sacrifice. If you stay at the same weight for a full month, I would suggest that you call the clinic and get an appointment to see one of your surgeons.

I remember being told once that as you are breaking down old stores of fat, you may actually stay the same because as the tissue retains extra fluid as it loosens, and so although you are losing some fat, you are holding onto some water weight.. I have been trying to find some information on-line to confirm or deny this, but haven't had any luck. Anyway, if there is any truth to it, it may help explain those frustrating plateaus.

It sounds like you are doing everything you are supposed to. I hope that you see significant results soon. You deserve them!

Tanya
