I had a great "non-scale victory" yesterday. I went to The aquatic center in Steinbach with my hubby and little girl. I  would NEVER go down a water slide 50lbs ago, NEVER!! Well I did it and it was AWSOME!! I screamed all the way down like a little girl and it was great.
I may never feel good in a bathing suit but I felt OK. It made me realize how much having this surgery means to my little girl. She had both parents splashing around in the pool it was a good day!!

Take care
Nikki

Yah,

I said to my husband that we should go out of town to a pool with a water slide with the kids.  I figured if we went out of Winnipeg I would not know anyone!!!   I guess we had the same idea, good job we never made it there.  I am still not comfortable in a bathing suit yet!!

I think I might just stay in the ski pants and winter jacket for the rest of this winter!! The snowhill is my kind of thing anyway!!

Your daughter must be very proud of you and your husband, losing weight sure opens a lot of doors.

Awesome job Nikki!!

Way to go Nikki!!! Nothing better than knowing you made your baby happy! I am so proud of you and I am sure you looked amazing in your bathing suit...you are beautiful!!!

As for the water slide, I hate those things...but it's amazing what we do for our kids! I took Hudson to the one in Portage Splash Island and had friggin slide burn on my arm from hanging onto the side so hard and then almost drowned Huddy coming down because I think with all my weight I picked up an amazing speed and flew out of the slide doing about 40 mph and sunk to the bottom...with my kid...he never asked again!! LMAO!!!

But we should plan a day in Portage at Splash Island this summer it's pretty nice and quite cheap...all of us!!!

Way to go!

You need to try the new indoor pool in Portage, they have a water slide, and waves! My son loves it.

Glad to hear your surgery went well!

Aww man! I totally would have went to the pool with you!..LOL Well maybe not, then I would have to shave my legs..LOL I haet going down that slide because when I do..OMG THE TIDAL WAVE!! The whole pool staares! I just laugh..cuz really I don't give a rip what anyone thinks.

I am sooo proud of you for going down the slide..lol I might never feel great in a bathing suit either, but I love the water and I tortured myself for far too many years in by NOT going to the pool/beach. I am going to enjoy my life..just like you did yesterday!

Way To Go,
I am also so proud of you. I think the last time I went down a water slide was about 25 years ago. I love the beach and the water and haven't owned a bathing suit in years , hopefully this year I will put one on again. Something I told my kids we would do next year is tobogganing I haven't done that in years either, my husband always went down with them but my turn will come. I intend to enjoy all off the things I missed because of my weight. Very happy for you.

Whoohoo!  Congrats to you.  I've never let my weight stop me from wearing a bathing suit or flying down water slides....although I am very self-concious.  But I do look forward to the day that I'm not huffing and puffing from dragging all the extra weight up the stairs to to the top of the slides.

What a great story!
This is exactly why I wanted to have the surgery done, so I could get back a better quality of life!
My goal is to learn how to ice skate. I have wanted to learn for years, but my lack of coordination on top of my weight made it impossible. Maybe by next winter!
Good for you for just going for it!
Happy New Year,
Tanya

Small world. I went to the steibach pool today with my hubby. We don't have little kids but we went to do some swimming. I haven't done that in years. My bathing was a little loose though. Do you live in the steinbach area?

My big NSV wish will be to go down hill skiing or snowboarding with my 8 year old.  Though getting into a bathing suit and going down water slides wouldn't be bad either!  I just booked our family vacay at Disneyworld about 10 min ago and is hoping to have enough weight gone to feel somewhat comfy.  Yeah to all of us, for getting the opportunity to do this!
