My last Turkey dinner today.  Thinking, ya know I am not really gonna miss it that much.  Any thoughts for you all who are post op.  Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas !

Just think of it as your last LARGE Christmas Dinner, you will still be able to have it after surgery - just a little satisfying portion that leaves you feeling good.

I've just celebrated my first Xmas after my sleeve and written a blog about it if you care to take a look.

Good Luck with your surgery.

I was thinking the same thing while having Christmas dinner.  In fact I even mentioned it to my family that this (hopefully) may be the last....or at least the last as I have known it my whole life.

I just had my first Christmas dinner post-surgery, and it really wasn't that bad. I was still on post-op mushy food, but I was able to have lots of mashed potatoes! LOL! I had one blue moment where I wished I could overindulge like everyone else, but it soon passed, and I enjoyed the evening immensely.

Definitely not your last xmas dinner. I had my rny done Oct 25/10 and xmas dinner I ate.....about 1 TB of stuffing, 2 TB broccoli/cauliflower casserole and one slice of turkey with a tad of gravy...i put potatoes on my plate but decided the other stuff was way more worth it, so left them uneaten. I also had a tad of caesar salade. It was great, I did not feel deprived at all. it was funny though because i commented on how my brain said i wanted more but i was already full.
good luck

Sue, did you have the RNY or the VSG?  Good for you.  I hope my sense of control is all that too!

I had the rny, and I didn't need sense of control....if I ate more i would have felt sick.
