Hello Everyone;

Well I had my surgery on Monday and I am told that it went very well. They sent me home after only 2 nights! It was so nice to be in my own bed again. Broth still tastes great, but I am starting to feel like I need to be having something more substantial. I just can't bring myself to have a protein shake yet. After 2 weeks on MediTrim, I just can't bear the thought. Anyway, I have been sleeping lots. I can't wait to start on some real protein. How soon did any of you try a scrambled egg? It says that we are only supposed to that that on phase 3 of the post-op diet, but I don't understand why we can't have it on phase 2. Any thoughts?

Tanya

P.S. I am so annoyed! A week of consuming essentially nothing and I am only down 1 pound! As soon as I stepped off the scale, I announced " I want my money back!".

Hooray!!!! So happy for you !

Glad everything went well and I came home weighing more than when I went in, WTF! LOL!....but soon, very soon they pounds will literally starting melting off!!!

I just tried some scrambled egg this past Sunday, I have heard it is hard for some people so I waited. It was OK but plan on trying again soon. I think they want you to eat things that don't make your tummy work too hard while healing. I would follow the guidelines pretty close and give yourself time to heal....and remember no stage is forever!!!  Pretty soon you will be eating normal looking food and chewing some substantial! I promise......

Take care and rest, walk and sip!!!

 So glad everything went well for you!!

I couldn't go near an egg for at least 2 months.  But everyone is different.  I ate cream of wheat made with skim milk and blended cream soups for that first phase.  Then eventually traded the cream of wheat for cottage cheese.  Which I still have for breakfast everyday.

After my surgery, I couldn't have anything to drink or eat for 4 days afterward, and when I stepped on the scale I was exactly the same weight.  I was totally WTF??  In fact I was pretty sure I said that very loudly right by the nurses station where they kept the scale...I could just read the look on their faces, lol.

But by the time I got home 4 days later, I had dropped 10 lbs.  So it will happen for you.  Your body is in a bit of shock and full of fluids, takes a bit of time to readjust.

Can't wait to see you again soon!!
