Hi there, i had asked this forum the exact same question 3 months ago, and the answers i got were that if you are getting a consult with the surgeon, then you are in. I have yet to see someone on the manitoba forum that has had the consult and been denied the surgery for any reason. It looks like once you meet with the surgeon, the surgery is done in about 6 -8 wks. I can understand your apprehension, i am the exact same way. My referrral was sent in, in Sept. I got a letter in oct stating i meet the criteria, and i will get a call for an appointment with the suregeon, as soon as available. I was told i would get a call in march so i am hoping to have my surgery done and over with by May.We will see. pls let me know when your referral was sent in so i can see where they are on the waiting list
thank you, have a good day

Hi Maxxie, I haven't had my surgery yet but Julie said 6-8 weeks, depending on when you get the paper work done and see the Nut. When did your referal go in?

 Hey Shann
I feel it in my bones your day is coming soon. I recall you saying you should get a call in January. Are you counting down the sleeps yet? Let us know as soon as you get the call. I am very excited for you

Hayley, I hope your right, I like everyone wanted this YESTERDAY! Lol. I'm excited now I can imagine when I have a date. I want to call the office everyday, but I said I would only once a month. Don't worry you guys will be the 1st to know.

Oh boy I am so excited for you guys and totally understand. The waiting is horrible, it feels like it takes forever!!!! But really it happens so quickly, and before you know it.....your sleeved!!!!

Just take this time now to, Ok I was trying to think of something inspirational but all that comes to mind is....EAT....... lots of salads if you like them because it might be awhile before you can eat them and what I wouldn't do right now for a chicken caesar or a greek salad!!!! Also if you like pop....have it because I miss the fizz!! And if you like to chug water....do it....and as your doing it....enjoy!!!! LOL!!!

And nothing is forever!!!!

But really I am actually starting after 5 weeks to be able to drink a tumbler of water in about 10 minutes!!!! Life is good!!!!

I was impatient and didn't want to wait so I went and self paid in Vegas. You all must be so excited! This will be one of the best decisions you will ever make! I know it certainly has been a life changer for me!

Good luck on the wait and I hope it happens fast for you all!!

Take Care

Although the process for most people has gone by pretty quickly, it's not been like that for me.
I met with one of the surgeon's in October.  Had an appointment with Laura in November, and now I've finally got an appointment with the surgical team on the 30th of December.  Hopefully then I'll get a surgery date- Julie tells me they're booking into February now!
