I'm so glad you checked in.  My husband has actually been asking about you.  Sorry you had the ordeal, but as usual, you write about it with such flair.  I'm glad you're okay though.   Keep us posted on how the news is spread.  I may be following your lead.  My parents know, but few others do.

Hi,

I am a new member and I just wanted to know if it is too late to be part of this pilot program and if not, how do I take part? I am not sure if I should go to my regular doctor and have him recommend me for this surgery or who should I contact? Any information you can give me would be very appreciated.

By the way, congratulations on your surgery and  I am looking forward to read more of your posts.

Thanks!

First thing you have to do is talk to your family doctor and get them to send in a letter stating they want you to be part of this. All Manitoba doctors got a letter with all the info/criteria needed to participate. The doctors are moving through the waiting list somewhat slowly, as they only do 2 surgeries a week. Slowly but surely! Anyways, after your doctor has sent in the requistion, it may take a long time to hear from the surgeons. I sent mine in last March and had my surgery Nov. 29th. I was told to not expect to even have it done, by NOW..but here I sit..almost 11 weeks out( I think)

Good Luck on your journey and never forget that it's worth the wait!
