Hey Tanya!

I had my surgery on November 2 and also enjoyed the chocolate one much more. I even blended it with ice and really enjoyed it that way too! Apparently we are not the norm...lol...most people like the vanilla!!! I am sure that when I picked my shakes up at Tache Pharmacy they told me I could exchange them if they weren't opened if I like one better than the other. You could phone and ask them!

Good luck and enjoy the veggies, never thought I would say that but I sure miss the crunch on the pureed stage!!!!

Hi Tanya,

I was the opposite with the pre op diet.  I could not stomach the chocolate and barely tolerated the vanilla but could get it down easier.
I called the pharmacy (Tache) and they exchanged my unopened box of chocolate for vanilla.  The pharmacy will do that without needing a new prescription from the NUT

Thanks Deb, Thanks Dean;

My problem was that I have already opened my box of vanilla and the pharmacy won't exchange the remaining pouches I have.

I am enjoying my veggies, and sipping on tea is helping me get through the day!

I just can't wait for my surgery. I know the recovery afterwards will be long, but I know I will be thrilled to be off MediTrim even if I am just sipping on broth! :-)

Tanya,

I just remembered how much I hated the pre op stage and by the last couple days I could not get the 2 shakes down.   I think once I even had a Costco Premier shake instead (gasp!).

But just remember you are doing one of the hardest parts right now and once you are done this, you really feel like you are in control and you will feel like you are really moving forward with this. .  You're almost there!! Hang in there!

Thanks Deb, Thanks Jo;

I knew that the pre-op diet would be a challenge, but I didn't anticipate how difficult it would seem. It is nice to know that you & others also disliked it but found a way to get through it anyway. It gives me hope!

I did as you suggested and & mixed the shake with ice. It is much more tolerable that way. I did also find that if I don't smell it, it is easier to swallow. Thanks for the tips!

I keep reminding myself how long I have wanted this surgery & that I am only two weeks away!

Thanks everyone.

 I never had to drink any of that stuff thank goodness, but with protein shakes I found it easier to tolerate when I blended it with ice and drank it from a 'sippy' cup.  I used a coffee go-cup with a sipper and I found that if I couldn't smell it, I could drink it.

yes, i am going for the sleeve as well. My BFF had the sleeve done in mexico in Sept (nikki. b) you probably have seen her on this forum. anyway, she had it done in Sept and has already lost 43 lbs. she looks amazing. after she had it done, i started researching it because i wanted to go to mexico and have it done also. Then while doing my research, i found this website, and learned thar they are now doing it here. When i asked my dr. to refer me he sort of scoffed at me because he didnt think i would qualify because my BMI was only 35, at the time of referral. Now its 36. doesnt take long for me to gain anyway, i got my letter in october stating that i was on the waiting list to see a surgeon and i would get a call when they had an appt. for me. anyway, i phoned Julie when mt referral was first sent in and she said i should get a call im March. So it looks like the surgery is done approx 6-8 wks after that, so i figure it should all be said and done by the end of May. Looks like the same for you. Maybe we will be in together, who knows. anyway, let me know if you hear ANYTHING, and i will do the same.
Take care
