I found the Siliac at a health food store, Scoop and Save on Portage. They have it in pill or liquid form, I got the pills because I haven't had surgery yet. It's good to know that the liquid is available for after the surgery. I also started taking Biotin a month ago.
I have very fine hair and hope I don't loss to much, maybe I won't and if I do oh well.

So I hope this gives me a head start.

Thanks again for the info Lori

Thanks for the information!!

I was going to post a question because I couldn't remember the name...but you saved me the trouble. And it is great that they have it in liquid form although I think I can start swallowing pills soon.

Thanks again!

I wonder if the Sillica works the same was at Biotin? Biotin makes ALL hair grow faster/thicker..including the stupid ones on my chin! No thanks..LOL I would rather have thin hair than grow a freakin beard!

I know where I am going tomorrow, I cannot beleive that my hair is going to fall out.  Does this happen to all bariatric people?

I don't think it happens to everyone. If I had a thick head of hair I wouldn't worry to much, but my hair is thinning already. I took biotin a few years ago and it didn't help my beard, thank goodness, lol.

I read that at 3mths post op ( from either surgery, rny or vgs) some people have hair loss. It's from a lack of nutrients. I have hypothyroidism and it has caused hair loss, so I want to take the biotin and silica to see if it helps. I started Biotin a mth ago, and at the meet n greet Lori was talking about Silica and that she noticed a difference when she took it.
I won't be having my surgery till the new year. So I should know by then if it's working.
Hope this helps

Hi ladies...
I have the silica gel from vita health. It is very wierd tasting and texture. I mix it with applesauce to get it down. I haven't lost any hair yet and my nails are getting super long and thick.
Take care
