For thinning hair, I took Silica.  I found it at Super store and Pharma plus.  It's about $16 for a bottle of 60 tablets.  I followed the directions on the bottle and took 2 tablets a day.

I started taking this prior to my surgery as that is what my surgeon's assistant recommended.  Please remember this won't stop the hair loss, but I found I lost less hair when I took this and your hair will grow back.  Mine is just starting to come back and I'm 18 months post-op.
