What have the Winnipeg surgeons said about this? I wasn't taking it before but I really don't want to chance anything now!!! I also don't want a crabby husband on my hands Are any of you taking the pill? Were you told to stop before surgery? I called Julie today but the docs were in surgery all day..LOL Of course I am now surfing the crimson wave and if I am gonna start the pill it would be today! ACK!

I think I am going to just take it anyways..if only for this month. After the surgery I think I'm going to look into getting an IUD. I do want more kids..just not right after surgery.

I ALWAYS stop my pills before any surgery as there is already a risk of blood clots from surgery and never want the added risk of birth control pills to the mix.

Actually I didn't have sex after surgery but don't have a crabby husband to contend with.  I started back on the pill when my next months period came.

Please be careful with IUD's and Mirena as your body is changing so fast.  I have seen my FAIR share of opps IUD & Mirena pregnancies after WLS.  I love that having the Sleeve allows me to use birth control!
