I'm sorry!

First of all I just wanted to apologize if I have scared the crap out of anyone who hasn't had their surgery yet! I am truly sorry! I said a few things in a reply that might have scared some of you and I never meant to do that. I was just being honest and I think that is how it should be. Yes there is pain but I am only on Tylenol extra strength now and don't even take them every 4 hours. Yes the gas pains could really flock off already!! And yes my tummy feels like I did a couple hundred situps and yes it does hurt when I drink water and actually it's not really pain as more discomfort or heaviness!! But it hasn't been that bad, it's very manageable and 90% of the time I feel almost normal just abit slower. So again I am sorry...so sorry!

It is going to be soooo worth it and I am soooo excited to be able to move on to each stage and phase ahead of me. To be able to enjoy life with my family and my little man Hudson!! I am also so excited for everyone that has an upcoming surgery, because it is going to be an amazing ride and we are all lucky enough to have got a ticket!!

Good luck ladies and i will make room on the losers bench for all of you!!!!!

I always take what is said with a grain of salt  I am guessing it's like giving birth..we all have different tolerances. For example I am a home birthing hippie...that is NOT for everyone. I have had surgeries before and though it sucked..it really isn't that bad when you look at how long the yucky feelings stick around.

It's not like having VSG or RNY or any of the other surgeries are a spa holiday right?..I think it's good to hear the good the bad and the gnarly to have as much info as possible. I thank you for sharing the not so pretty side.

I am also thankful for ticket.."a golden ticket"

Dean,
You better save me a seat, cause I'm coming to the loser bench in the new year. I totally expect some of those things to happen. It's sort of like child birth we know it's going to hurt but we still do it because the outcome is SO rewarding. You said it like it is and I appreciate that.

Hi I'm new to the forum and I have been been following your posts since I had my first visit with the surgeon last week.
I am scheduled to see the nutritionist for december 8th and find that everything you have posted very informative. I don't think you have any need to apoligize as we all handle surgery and pain differently and I think that it's good to know some of the things I may have to face when it's my turn. And like you said it will be sooo worth it.

I think that we only learn when honesty is used.. I think that you are doing a great service for everyone. You are giving us the opportunity to learn from someone who has gone threw it.  So thank-you

Dean is totally right...it's not nearly as bad as yuo think. It is totally managable. I had my surgery in Mexico and had NO pain meds except for naproxin and I did totally fine.
The pros will always out-weigh the cons.

dont EVER be sorry for your honesty Dean, as it is most appreciated. We are all lucky to have people like you who are willing to share their personal experiences, and make our own journeys a little less scary.
Thank you
