I am now officially on the phase 2 portion of the diet!!!   No more clear fluids, I am so sick of broths.

Breakfast-Snacks

100 ml Vanilla Yogurt
200 ml citrus Tea
1 Mashed banna
591ml water

Lunch time

250ml Cream of Celery Soup(made with 2%milk)

I found that yesterday I had only taken in 300 calories and 25grams of protein.  I need to eat more protein!!  Try finding high protein in about 5 tablespoons of food!

I made smoothies with Whey protein power.  It really helped.  One word of advise, when you start eating solids make sure you chew chew chew, you ca get a blockage and it really really hurts.

good luck

Hi Michelle,

I started phase 2 yesterday!  Couldn't wait.  I am having a hard time getting in all my water but no problem with the protein.  Hitting 70grams per day now.  2 protein shakes (30g each) which take me all day long.  And now that we can have yogurt I am adding protein that way.  That Greek yogurt is amazing, mixed it with Splenda and baby food blueberries and that was another 18g and yummy.  But anything is yummy after a week of broth and water.I'm scared to eat real food, scared of those blockages I keep hearing about!
Are you taking a multivit?

I am not taking any vitamins yet, I started to get acid reflux in the hospital on day 3.  I have to control that with Nexium now.  I am scared to take them they might make me sick!

How are you doing with yougurt and fresh berries?  I bought the premade berry yogurt packs from costco yesterday.  I seems ok to drink, plus I added the meditrim vanilla.

Have you tried the premade skahes from Costco? 18 in a box.

OMG I can never look at that meditrim stuff again!  I thought it was awful, vanilla and chocolate!  I held my nose and drank it for two weeks.

Ya, I bought a box of Coscto shakes before I went in for surgery. The dietician at the Vic thought they were great for post op protein.    I have been having two a day since I  came home from the hospital which is making the protein thing easy for now.  I added Greek Yogurt (my new fav) for another 18g to up my protein to almost 80g a day now.  Yay!

Laura told me to crush the chewable multi vit as soon as I got home from the hospital so I have a pill crusher and have been taking that multi vit in 30cc of water daily.  I am on Nexium too, had reflux in the hospital but the vits absorb really well in the water, just mix them well and drink it like the nexium.

I am using Source fat free sugar free yogurt (4g protein per), flavored, sf pudding, sf jello and using my magic bullet for cream some lentil soups,...put some greek yogurt in the soups.

I think this phase is the hardest.  My fav so far is Greek yogurt, splenda and blueberry/apple baby food on top. Today, I am going to blend frozen fresh strawberries, vanilla bean protein powder and some 1% milk for a smoothie....big treat

Have you started exercising yet?  When is your follow up?  I go in on the 5th.

Hardest thing for me is to drink 8 cups of water on top of all this per day....yuk

Hi there,
I know it is hard to get all your protein in. I have started to have more protein shakes in  my diet. I am almost two months out and I feel great,
I am going to  popeye's today to pick up some new protein powder. I need a new flavor to try. I am kind of sick of chocolate...I can't believe I am sick of chocolate...lol
Take care

I go to the Dr on November 5th for my check up to!!   I will not be seeing Dr. Andrew it is another Dr. from the group.

I am able to drink fluids approx 2 litres now during the day.  I am not hungry for FOOD, this is soooo weird, I think about it when driving past the FAST FOOD JOINTS.  Then I think my stomach is not hungry it is my memory telling me that I enjoyed that food.  I eat by the clock right now.

Have you noticed that in the states they have leak tests, take different vitamins that US here in Canada.  Do you think that we are not following the proper diet here???

I go on the 5th too, seeing that other Dr. as well , as much as I wanted to see Dr. Andrew or Bracken.I am there at 9:30, what time is your appt.?

I heard about leak tests and asked about them but no one could actually answer.  They say 10 days out is the mark of no leaks but who knows?
I am not hungry either1  iIt's so strange to have to remember when to eat.  I talked to Julie and said I am tolerating everything so well she said I could try things as I wanted so I have started with cottage cheese and mashed yams.  It is heaven but a half a small yam took me 4 hours of picking to get thru!

What vitamins and diet differences are in the states? I am only taking the multi vit.

I think my appt is for 11am I will have to call and confirm.

It looks like they take B12 and Calcium and a multivitamin,  They divide them in half and take twice daily, so that they are absorbed.  Otherwise they would pass thru the tinny stomach fast.

I am going to try that starting on Monday.  Are you having any problems with any foods?  Have you tried chicken yet?  I am going to put some spinach, potatoe and chicken in the magic bullet tonight for supper!!

I am looking at those Halloween size chocolate bars and thinking those are the perfect size!

Apparently those Celebrate Vitamins, the ones advertised on this sight aren't bad. I saw a review on You Tube from a lady who got a free sample package. I will let you know when I get them, I didn' t look at there prices, I just asked for a sample pack.
