referral sent in mid September. spent the last 6 wks wondering what was going to happen. Have i met the criteria? Will i be denied at the consult? Phoned Julie who stated i was on the list to see a surgeon. I still had no clear answer as to whether or not i met the criteria. I actually recieved a letter today stating in black and white that i do meet the criteria and i am on the list to see a surgeon. It says that i will recieve a phone call with an appointment date in the future. finally some clarity, and an end to the wondering....

thx, i finally have an answer. the wondering is even more torture than waiting for the consult, because your future is in someone elses hands. yeeeesh. anyway, now all i can do is wait..........but not wonder.....lol thx, have a good day

Hooray your in!!!! That is amazing and such a relief to hear. Also such a good idea to let people know that they are on the list and meet the criteria!!! Trust me it will be around the corner before you know it!

I too had a consult go in Sept. I rec'd the letter saying i fit the criteria as well. Now is a waiting game! This is a great forum though. Nice to see all the support!

thx, yeah, i think they have only just started to let people know by mail because i have been reading previous posts on other forums and it seems that people were only getting letters if they did not met the criteria, so needless to say when i pulled the letter out of the mailbox with the large bariatric surgery stamp on it, i thought it was the end of the road for me. so i thought id better post this for any other people that are anxiously waiting to hear from the clinic. i guess julies phone is probably ringing off the hook so they decided to inform people by mail instead of just let them wait. YAY......How many more sleeps Dean? 10? omg, I am so excited for you. hows Michelle doing? Hopefully home by now. Do you know how long you will be in hosp for? Keep me posted

I am definitely ready for the next step, the shakes aren't that bad, as least the chocolate ones!! Vanilla ones...might have to kick them up a notch with something!!

Good idea about informing people because that's so true about getting a letter and only thinking they sent our denial letters!! I think that poor girl is going crazy with all the calls, I seriously felt like I was harrassing her!

I haven't talked to Michelle today, but she didn't sound too good yesterday, the nausea was pretty bad and so she was having a hard time getting her water in. Hopefully that subsided yesterday and she is starting to drink and maybe go home. I know she must be missing her kids terribly!!

They told me 3-5 days, it depends on how well your fluid intake is! So all I can do is hope!

If I hear anything about Michelle I will most certainly post it!

11 sleeps, wow time flies. I hope michelle is feeling better today. Im sure she will notice a difference with each passing day. i cant believe it is 3-5 days in hosp, for some reason i thought it was 2-3 days. yikes. my kids will be going through withdrawel without me for that long. well it will all be worth it in the end. this time next year we will all be a much happier bunch of people.
