I am going for VSG Oct. 19th at the Vic,,,nervous!! Tips anyone

Hmm m lets see... I did have horrid gas pains but not everyone does. I was told to use gasX strips but they didn't work for me. The best way to get rid of the gas pains is to get moving. I was up walking around very soon after surgery. I felt really gross but I did it. You WILL FEEL BETTER!! I promise you. It took about a good week or two to get rid of all the gas pains. I just kept my eye on the prize.
How is your pre-op diet going? Are you taking a really good multivit?
Since I had my surgery done in Mexico I had limited support and resourses. This web site is the best. I didn't find in until I was back from my surgery.
My friend is on the waiting list to have her surgery done in Winnipeg. I didn't even know that they were doing the surgery here until I got back. At my highest my BMI was only 35 so I don't know if I would of qualified. Oh well... $5000.00 later the damage in done and I am super happy with the sleeve.

Don't worry about all the post-op stuff it will all come together for you.

Thanks for the info.  As the date approaches I get more nervous, but also excited.  It is a mixed feeling that seems to be prevalant among all of us.  I am just going to take it one day at a time and your words of 'keeping your eye on the prize' are so true....and I will.  I can't wait to get off this Meditrim pre op fast and get some better tasting protein shakes!!
How are you doing now?  Are you back to normal activites, are you able to eat small amounts of regular food? 
Amazing that you had to travel to Mexico, and you are right, we are fortunate to have the support and resources here!
