I am going for my VSG on Oct. 19th at the Vic. I just discovered this forum and would love to hear from anyone for wise words, support and tips.  I don't know what to expect and am getting through my pre op liquid diet day by day, hour by hour!  I feel completely overwhelmed and would love to hear from someone about their experiences!

Hi there,
I have not yet gone, scheduled Nov 2/10 also at the Victoria. Just wanted to say your going to be fine and soon you will be able to scream from the rooftops, I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!  I also have another friend who is going that day and is also on this forum. How are you doing on your pre-op? Where did you find the sugar free popsicles? Do you have any tips or words of encouragement for me to make it through the pre-op? How much have you lost on it?

You go girl!!!! So excited for you and I'm right behind you so make room on the losers bench!!!!

Find me on Facebook, Michelle Christie. Country Girl is already a friend.  If I can figure out how to start a group on facebook, I will post the info here.

Thanks for your support!  I can't believe how much these forums help provide info and support.  I don't know how much I have lost on the pre op yet, i will find out in a day when i go to the vic for my pre op visit.

i have not used sugar free popsicels but have used sugar free jello and non fat sugar free yogurt to curb the initial hunger headaches and nausea.  It is a tough diet but after the first 4 or 5 days it does seem to be like second nature.  I have had a couple of minor slip ups (we are all human) but overall I would say I am holding my own! All I know is that if I can do this...food lover that I am...then you will be fine!  You will make it through the pre op because once we get our prescription for MediTrim filled there is no turning back!

Thank you for your encouragement, it made my day as I downed another shake.

Cheers,
Deb

Hey Deb, I'm having my surgery on the 25th and I didn't know anything about a pre op appt at the vic. Did they phone you or what???? If so how long ago did they contact you?

Yes they will call you, they contacted a couple of weeks before, it is called the pre op assessment clinic or something similar.  Make sure you have a few hours, it took forever!!

Wow, you must be excited about your surgery, It is just around the corner. I had my surgery a month and a half ago in Mexico and am super happy with my sleeve.
The surgery gas pains are kind of tough but the end result is FANTASTIC!
Good Luck

I'm more nervous than excited.  So much to remember post op, it's feels a bit overwhelming.  Any advice  for the gas pains and post op recovery diet?  Congrats on your surgery and thanks for your support!
