THE GOLDEN QUESTION

Has anyone on this forum ever been denied wls, or know of anyone who has been denied wls AFTER meeting with the surgeon? I have heard of people recieving letters in the mail stating that they do not meet the criteia however, is this information obtained from the initial gp referral, or at the consult? I am very nervously awaiting a consult for around march/11.

once they get your info from your gp they will see if you qualify or not. if not you'll get a letter stating so. otherwise you get a consult appt. hope that helps.

thnx sue, i guess i qualify. now i will just wait for my appt.

Call and ask to be on the cancellation list, I did and I know one other girl on the forum that did the same.  It worked for us.

Really????? Thats awesome. So how long were you supposed to wait, and how long did you really wait? Julie told me last month that they were doing Feb referrals right now so it will be at least 6 months. For me its the not knowing that kills me, even more than the wait. I am so scared that i will meet the surgeon and he will say no for some reason. that would be aweful. Anyway thank you for the advice, i will definitely call Julie tomorrow and ask to be put on the cancellation list. I didnt know there even was one. THANX, keep your fingers crossed for me.
