3 weeks post op
I am currently obsessed with Premier Nutrition High Protein Shakes available at Costco. They are available in Chocolate and Vanilla. I haven't tried the vanilla because I am totally in love with the chocolate!!!
They are $28 for a case of 18 and completely worth it. I will never, ever go back to powders again. I drink one every day after lunch and they contain a whopping 30g of protein!!
Costco also carries a protein bar called Detour that is very WLS friendly and extremely tasty. When I'm dying for a chocolate fix, I just have one of those and it satisfies my sweet tooth and I get in 15g of protein!
I bought a Costco membership just so I could go grab these items.
If you do want a powder however, I was using ISO 93 Sensation in Vanilla Bean flavor available at Popeyes. I believe there is a picture of a scoop of ice cream on the cover. This was one of the very few powders I found tolerable.
If the smell bothers you, try a 'go-cup' with a closed sippy lid. That made a huge difference for me. Also blend it with crushed ice. That also helps.
I'm just over a year post-op and I have definitely struggled at times making sure I got my protein in, but it's a learning process and it gets easier as time goes by.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Feel free to inbox me if you'd like. I don't get on here nearly as much as I should and I don't want to miss you!
Good Luck on your journey and congratulations!!
