got my date, traveling abroad for surgery though!

Hey,
I haven't posted too much but have been following this forum and the VSG forum for a few months.
I have my surgery date to be sleeved on October 15, 2010 at 10am, however I will be traveling to Panama to have the surgery.

I know there are a lot of opinions of having surgery out of the country but I feel it's the right decision. I have been obese my whole life and I am currently in my late 20's, have been on many many diets and have only been able to lose max 50 lbs.
I have expressed a fear of surgery in general (have never had any form of surgery in my life so i have no idea what to expect)  and a few people have taken it as doubt regarding this specific surgery.

for those who have had a wls what can I expect from it?
I am just nervous in general
