My name is in to see Dr Andrew in Wpg

Went to see my doctor today and he faxed my name into Dr Andrew for surgery.  Now to play the waiting game.

And yes the waiting game begins. I spoke with their office the other day and was told that they have done one surgery and if I am correct are doing another one this week. Everything went very well...so exciting!!They are moving pretty slow with appointments but they hope that will pick up, There is apparently another doctor starting in the fall. They are now seeing patients with January referrals, mine was a February referral and she thought it should be in a couple of months. So I am keeping my fingers crossed for everyone that all the kinks start getting worked out and it will move quicker...yes I am extremely impatient. LOL! I believe it will pick up once holidays are over and the other surgeon starts up. At least it is being done in Manitoba finally, and hoping it continues!

do you know what the cost is and if manitoba health pays for it

Yes, I know the person who had it done this week and it was actually today.  Just waiting to hear how she made out. 

I have my name in with Dr. Andrews, if you could please keep me posted that wuold be great. Is the surgery covered by Manitoba Health?

Hi there,
Yes the surgery is covered, the only thing you have to pay is the appointment with the nutrionist and I think that is $200 and the liquid diet that you have to be on and I believe it is also $200. I am not a hundred percent sure of the prices but I believe they were in that range.

Has anyone had the surgery?

I'm still waiting for my referral to go through. I am hoping that perhaps by fall I will get to see a surgeon.
