My appointments with Humber River Bariatric Program were cancelled on me and offered no advice than to see my family doctor for further options. Reason 'The Ministry of Ontario has decided to Cut all incoming Bariatrics referrals from outside the province!!!" I'm so frustated.

A friend of mine had that happen to her from Ontario and Alberta both. SHe is left hanging now with nowhere to go other than out of the country. I have had a VSG done in Mexico and since Feb. 23rd have lost about 16 lbs already. I had such a great experience that I am now working as a coordinator for the Jerusalem Clinic here in Manitoba and I aim to  help as many people as I can get the wls they deserve for reasonable prices. A lap band surgery here in Winnipeg is a whopping 18,000. That is totally rediculous!

If you are wanting any type of weight loss surgery. let me know and I will do what I can to help you get it done for a price you can afford. Our federal government won't be doing anything anytime soon I guarantee that. Blessings

I was so close and now I'm starting over at the bottom. My dr has sent referrals and decided a monitored liquid diet would have me actively losing weight in the meantime.

It is very affordable and there is financing available. The only thing I have to say about your dr. putting you on a liquid Meditrim diet is that it is not the healthiest way to lose weight. You need to be able to eat food...not just drink your way to weight loss.  All in all, my cost for surgery and airfare was around 6000 US. Lapband in winnipeg here is 18,0000. Stupid if you ask me.

I'll be on 2 shakes a day with a small balanced meal for 4 weeks(to be reviewed weekly). I'll be seeing a dietican at the same time who will also follow my progress and aid myself in changing my dietary habits.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about that.... I had mine done in with Dr Nohr in Medicine Hat....  Are you from Winnipeg?  There are some surgeons in St Boniface that are accepting new referrals...

My Dr had informed me of that and has sent a referral to them.

So sorry to hear this news...the government and medical system is so frustrating and ridiculus, I found that out as well.  You wll find a way...keep fighting
