I had my RNY with Dr. Christou in Montreal.. He is THE Dr. who teaches all the Dr's in Canada how to do the surgury.  Excellent. He has a private clinic. I have no complaints. down 135lbs.

Thanks for the info, I certainly have heard of Dr Christou.... my niece is a single parent with limited income and could not afford to pay on her own, MB Health would have to cover the costs, they did for  my surgery in Alberta.  Congrats on your weight loss!

I had a gastroscopy last week with Dr. Chris Andrew from 400 tache ave.  He told me that in the new year he is going to be starting a bariatric program with two docs from toronto right here in Manitoba!!  He will only do the VSG as first but will expland later.  This is great news for mantioba, its about time Manitoba health allows us to have our own bariatric program.  Lets pray Manitoba Health doesnt stop him once again!!!  Anyways,  i asked him how he will let family phyisicans know and he said he will send a letter to every doc in winnipeg, so anyone interested should keep asking their doctor about Dr. Chris Andrew from 400 Tache Ave.  He is such a cutie pie to boot!! 

Dr Andrews/wpg I just had a surgery to fix a problem from gastric bypass, that i had in 2000 hiati hernia, scar tissue etc he was great I would sure recommend him!

Thanks alot for this new info... I will let my niece know.  A lot of people also ask me about surgeons so it will be great if Dr Andrew will be taking patients here in Manitoba.
