I has the gastric bypass surgery in Red Deer, AB on April 15 of this year and have lost 159 lbs to date.
I feel great and would love to talk to others who are going thru the same stuff.
Did you know that Man Health pays for your surgery if you have it done in Alberta. They paid for my initial consultation trip (air expenses) and they paid for the trip for both my husband and myself for the surgery, and then they paid for one more trip for follow up.
The Dr I went to insits that he see's you once a month prior to the surgery to ensure that you are following his diet plan (it really works) I lost 60 lbs prior to the surgery. His plan is that you eat 1 cup of food 3 times a day, you can eat anything except chocolate or cheese. (unless it's fat free cheese). Also, you can eat all the spinach and lettuce you want (I ate a lot of salads with 1 cup of chichen, chilli etc mixed in it. It was my saving grace.
