Well it looks like DR TANG did not record what he said just the exact opposite. His letter to my GP states that I need to only lose only 50-60 lbs and go ahead setting up appointment with specialists. It says nothing about "don't make another appt if you don't lose 100lbs!!" HE"S MADE A LIAR OUT MY DH AND MYSELF!!! His assistant says that doesn't sound like him. OMG now what can I do as according to MB health I am stuck with him!! Anyone have experience with this?

I AM CONFUSED. SHOULD I JUST GO AHEAD WITH HIM?

Well Laurie go to your GP and tell him everything and yes go for the DS, it might be your only way out. If you explain to Manitoba health that he is trying to push the Lap-band, which they don't cover maybe you can get out of it.

Try anything you can, Stephanie

I made an appt for the end of week with my GP. Hopefully he'll agree I would do better with a DS and help me out. I must gather as much info as possible.

Grrrr....I did call back Dr. T's assistant and was nice.. just in case.
Thanks
Laurie

You are only doing what you can , right? The DS has great long term results with very little people ever gaining their weight back. Yes get all the info. you can. Knowledge is power.

Talk to you soon Stephanie

Print off as much info. about the DS and take it to your GP, maybe that well change his mind. I know a few people who have had the DS about 8-10 years ago and none of them have had any problems or weight gain.

I have just been catching up on posts Laurie and personally, go with your gutt - if you do not get a good feeling about him, drop him like a dirty rag.  I am sure you will have other chances for other WLS with other doctors.   Bed side manner is very important to me and it sounds like he doesn't have much of that.

I understand you are anxious to have WLS but your time will come with a much more pleasant doctor.
