New to this. Need advice
I have been reading the board off and on for a few months trying to decide best course of action for me. Still not sure. I think I have decided on RNY surgery. I would like some advice. This is my info.
-Male
-very active
-over eater
-BMI 43
Now the problem.I live in Ontario but on the Manitoba- Ont. border. I am only 2 hours east of Winnipeg.23 hours west of Toronto and 8 hours north of Minneapolis. I am thinking Minnesota or North Dakota are my best options. I would like OHIP to pay for the surgery. So where do I start ?
Thanks

Hi there
I am from manitoba but am having my surgery in TO as manitoba does not have a bariatric program. I dont think Ontario medical will cover your surgery in Minnesota as you have a bariatric program in TO. I would recommend being referred to Dr. David Starr. The wait time is reasonable and i have heard nothing but good things about him. I saw him in May of this year and will most likely have my surgery in December or January. You will have lots of appointments prior to surgery but in the end it really isnt that long. Hope this helps.
