Gastric By Pass Surgery
Hey Everyone,
I want to get this surgery done because I am to large and have a chance of high blood pressure and diabetis. My doc refured me to Dr. Nohr in 2007 and i don't have an appointment until March, 2010. Can anyone please tell me if this is normal to have to wait this long.
Thanks hope to hear from someone soon.
Jackie
It is if you go out west, however I only began my journey to WLS with Dr. Starr in Toronto in November '07 and I have surgery in less than 2 wks!! If you need any help with anything I will help with whatever I can. You can email directly @ [email protected], if you want cause I tend to stick to the ON forum and I sometimes forget to check the MB one. Amy.
I had an appt with Dr. Nohr in Medicine Hat, Alberta in May 2007 to discuss open RYN surgery (I had to wait from 2004 to 2007 for an appointment). I had surgery on March 13, 2008. The wait is quite long for some surgeons. You can ask to put be on a cancellation list (I did not but others have). I also know of another Winnipeger that saw Dr. Star in Toronto, shorter wait time than I had.

ps you can check out my page or email me at [email protected] if you have any other questions.
I checked into Dr Nohr a few years back and the waiting list was crazy.. It would have taken years and years till i would have ever had surgery. So i decided i didnt have that kind of time as my blood pressure was creeping up and all sorts of other weight related issues were coming up. I called Dr joya in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I just self paid. It has been worth it over and over and i would do it all over again in a heart beat. I called Dr Joya and was booked in for surgery in 6 weeks.
I had surgery Nov 13th and have lost 185 lbs. And am on top of the world.
When i first inquired about Dr Nohr they told me from start to fini**** would take almost 7 years till i would have surgery. Now if there is any truth to this i dont know. i never stuck around long enough to find out.
Good Luck
Tammy
