where is the support groups on here

Hey Candy, I would love to try and get something together to support one another. I'm starting to freak out as my date draws near and I would love to be able to talk to someone who has had the same experiences as I have or help out others who are just beginning their journey.There used to be a meeting the 3rd/last Thurs. of the month just off Corydon, but I never attended and I'm not to sure if they still happen. This site seems to be very dead so I am always ion the ON forum but I would love to connect with people close to home. I had RNY in mexico Nov 13th 2007. I live just south of Winnipeg and there is no one around here for support. I would love to chat with local people who have had the surgery or are thinking of having the surgery. I have lost 175lbs since i had surgery and feel wonderful but i would still love to have the support of others in the area. Let me know. I live in the St James area.I had gastric bypass surgery on April 18th in Moncton NB.

Wow! Congratulations, 175lbs and it isn't even 1 year.  How are you doing it?  You seem to be in great spirits.  Well done!  I had lapband surgery on July 8, 2008 and only hope that I will achieve anything close to that in 1 year.

I am new to this forum, having had lapband surgery on July 8, 2008.  I am due for my second fill next week.  I am losing slowly and would be happy to have someone to discuss this ongoing life change.  It looks as if your surgery was around the same date.
