Congratulations on your loss, that's absolutely fantastic!! We need to see you at the meetings once in while!! Sharing our stories with the up and comers is so important, not just for them to hear from people who are living it but also for us as a reinforcing factor. Hopefully you can make it to Decembers meeting.

Topic: 100 lbs lost!
I just wanted to share my very own personal milestone that I reached this week! I'm 7 months out and down (officially!) 100 lbs. Wow what a trip! I'm so thankful every day for the wonderful gift of RNY that my surgeon has given me. Oh and I'm offically in the 'overweight' category of the BMI charts no longer 'obese' YEAH!
Only 40 lbs to go to reach goal and I'm hopeful i can reach it by 1 year postop. Even if I didn't lose another lb, I have re-gained my life and my health back. I had so many health issues preop (diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol) that are GONE now and my recent bloodwork at my 6 month checkup was perfect no deficiencies.

Topic: RE: United Health
I don't know about united health personally, but feel free to be proactive and calling them yourself to get the ball rolling faster. But be prepared that they may deny you at first, have your surgeon turn in a medical necessity form, there may even need to be a peer to peer review that your surgeon will have to talk to the doctor in charge of your case at the insurance company just be persistent!! My surgeon had to do a peer to peer review for my conversion from band to bypass after the insurance co initially denied the claim.
Topic: RE: support group on Cape Cod?
I don't know of any on the cape but there's one in bridgewater on the last Monday of the month and I host one at my house in Quincy on the 2nd wednesday of the month. Let me know if you want any more info.
Topic: United Health
Heard United Health isnt the best to work with. Waiting on insurance approval for a revision from band to bypass. Any input about United Health? My dr's office said long waiting period before they find out???
Thanks

Good luck and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Topic: support group on Cape Cod?
Does anyone know of a support group on Cape Cod? I typically go to the HOWL meeting at Tufts but would LOVE to find one closer to home, preferably lower/outer Cape. It is so hard to leave work so early on Mondays to travel 2 hours each way for a one hour meeting.
