Topic: Dr. Andras Sandor/Time Frame

Hi all,

I first met with Dr. Sandor (Winchester Hospital) in May, and I've met with all of the specialists, had all of the test, etc.  I have my follow up with him tomorrow; is there any out there who saw him?  Will I get my surgery date tomorrow?  How long between your final consult and your surgery?  I'm a teacher, so I'm still holding out hope I can have this done with enough time to avoid taking too many days off once school starts.

Also, I have Harvard Pilgrim for health insurance, and I'm told they're generally pretty fast about turning around the approval.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Hi I'm Jae, live in the Metrowest area. Currently going through the steps to have a vertical sleeve gastrectomy in the next few months. Looking to connect with some locals for chats, laughs and mutual support. Going through the Weight and Wellness Center @ Tufts, outgoing, excited and nervous!

Can anyone recommend a plastic surgeon in MA that accepts MA health/neighborhood health? In finally ready to try and get rid of this extra skin on my abdomen. I'm also tired of powders and creams to stay dry!

Thanks Mary!! I have been reading the VSG forum for months now, but just actually joined as a member. I'm getting nervous because I literally can't find any feedback about my surgeon- I've searched the board here, I've googled, etc. and can't find any reviews. 9/22 is my 1st child's bday- great day :) Good luck with your pre-op stuff!!

Hi -- Just happened to check in here and saw your post.  I see you just joined.  Not much happens here on the MA board - everyone posts on the main boards.  Check out the VSG board (Forums/Surgery Types/Click drop-down menu and choose VSG) and the General Discussion board too.

Sorry I can't help you with any info on Dr. Lane.  I'm pre-op for surgery at U-Mass.  Your hospital's bariatric program looks good from looking at its web site.  Like U-Mass, lots of pre-op screening.  Don't you wi**** didn't take so long?!  I started the process in October, and hope to have surgery by June.

Anyway - lots of information on the boards here -- hope to see you posting on the main boards.

P.S. -- Is 9/22 your birthday?  I ask because it's my birthday so it caught my eye!

Hi,

I have been working towards VSG surgery in the next few months with Dr. Lane out of Lawrence Memorial Hospital. I haven't been able to find any feedback on her and was wondering if anyone here could contribute?

Thanks

That's good news. Start doing some of the things now that you will have to do after surgery. The more used you are to your new way of life, the easier the transition will be.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Hi Darianna!

Good luck on your surgery! I had my sleeve surgery in November 2013. Doing great right now and the weight is coming off. February is around the corner. You will be fine. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
