Topic: what did you bring to the hospital, especially if you went to Tufts?
I figure a change of clothes, chapstick and maybe a book or magazines, Is there anything else you would recommend? Wednesday is the big day for me!
Also, do you remember how much the parking garage charges for the day?

Topic: RE: Had my six month appointments...
Hi Julie!
I just had my 6 month appointment with Dr Hess today! and I am only down 58! I started at 273 at 5'5. So pretty close! But yes the Dr. did mention that I was below average! :(
So I am going to log things closer and workout more. And pray!
hugs,
Diana

Topic: RE: I have a date...Why is this making me anxious?!?!?
The same thing happened to me. They started giving me a hard time when I told them about my surgery. I was terminated the first day back but at least I got short term disability while I was recovering. On the bright side, the economy, at least in MA is starting to pick up and you'll be a better interview candidate!

Hi Lee,
What a great surgery date! It's completely normal to be nervous! You'll be uncomfortable for a the first few days to a week, it's mostly from the gas, but it's not bad. Take the pain meds as recommended, keep sipping water and walk as much as possible. I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet so I can't really comment there. Post op, you won't be hungry at all, at least for awhile. In fact, I am still not hungry, I eat when it's time to eat. This does not mean you won't have cravings, it's what people call head hunger. The first few weeks post op you get very bored with your plan but it gets easier as you're able to add more and more foods in. As for loose skin, age is working in your favor. It really is a combination of age, genetics, how much you have to loose and how long you've been overweight. People loose at different rates and since you're a relative lightweight to begin with you probably won't see the huge numbers some people have but it will come off, just imagine where you'll be by the summer!

Topic: RE: insurance
I too was denied just days before the original conversion surgery date. It took about 2 weeks to get the insurance paperwork squared away and approved. My surgery date I then picked because Im a fulltime student and it wouldnt have worked for me if I had done it ASAP, once approved they could have taken me that week for the surgery but I had to plan around school, so it was approximately a month after. Just keep your head up and plugging away, itll happen.

Its fine. I am just worried that since my degree is still in progress I won't be able to find something making what I make now...or find something at all but we have some savings and I'm hoping it will help for the time I'm not working. The worst is not having a distraction afterwards in case I get tempted to try and eat. That wud be awful. I'm also only taking 2 classes to be on the safe side for my grades. Wish me luck! Lol
