need advice with eating year after surgery
I just celebrated my year anniversary on March 4th and have lost 120 pounds and I'm getting scared about eating. After surgery I let my stomach be the guide to let me know when to stop eating and I pretty much ate whatever I wanted and stopped when full. Well now it takes more food to make me feel full and I don't get that full feeling quickly and I'm scared to death of regaining weight. I have hit a plateau where I am at 141 up or down one pound and I would like to lose another 10 pounds but it's hard because I can tolerate just about any food now where before things like sugared foods made me sick. Well now I crave sugars and can tolerate them well too! The only sugar I stay away from is any kind of soda--sugar free or with sugar. I'm realizing that I still have the same head that wants sugar all the time and my stomach seems to be cooperating with that more and more as time goes on. So I'm asking how you deal with this so you don't regain your weight? Any advice would be appreciated!
Hi Amy,
I had my surgery in January 2005, and I feel the SAME way that you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I am going for a fill tommorrow, as I am afraid I am eating WAY to much.
I haven't gained any weight, but I am scared that I will.
I run the support group here in Springfield, but I am one of the pioneers., so no one there is a help.
If you get any advice, PLEASE let me know
Thanks
HArriet

Hi Rosa,
Dr. Haag is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't say enough good things about him.
I was alittle sore after the surgery, but it passed quickly.
Have you been to the support groups?
I think that they are the biggest help.
People to support you.
If I don't see you before your surgery, good luck.
we have a new list of support group meetings.
let me know if you need them
Harriet
