The need for a new local support group
Hi all, I have been searching around to find out if there are any support groups in my area. I had surgery in Boston and they have a great support group but getting there for them is a pain the ... well you know. I have been unable to locate a group that is half way between The Cape and Boston. Does anyone know of any?
In the event your answer is No. If I started a Chapert of Obesity Help right about half way between The Cape and Boston would anyone be interested in attending? I have a few days before I have to sign up for the training but would be willing to do it if there is a need out there.
Let me know what you think!

hi lynn,
i actually just recently received information on becoming a leader. i am from the area that you are referencing and i was working on a location. i am probably at least a month away at starting.
i had my surgery in june and i am having a hard time getting into boston for a meeting and that is why i wrote to obesity help about becoming a leader.

if anyone else would be interested in meeting at a location, perhaps a hosp. in the taunton area, please let me know.
i need at least 10 people to sign up that they will attend meetings.
please let me know.
regards,
lorie
Hi Lorie, We should chat. I am going to sign up for the confrence call on 10/29/05 to become certified. Perhaps we could co-found a group (great to have back up incase something comes up on a meeting night). I was brainstorming on locations - do you think an unaffiliated hospital would lend us a space - I'm not sure if there could be a liability involved for them? I was also thinking of churches and libraries - some one should be able to donate space but I have begun pursing the location yet. I have 4 replies that seem interested and you and I make 6. I checked out the leader ladder and that is mostly stuff that will evolve once the group is established. I was hoping to do an improptu meeting some time in the near future so we could all say hi and meet each other. What do you think?

Hi Lynn I know in Taunton the hospital Morton has a Bariatric support but I am sure under that heading would be the banded loosers also. I live in Wareham for my summers but now back in Fl and I go to the one here in Florida and I need my support group big time. So try calling Morton Hospital in Taunton Good Luck Lynn
