Can't it go faster.
Dear Sheila,
It took me 6 months vs the average 3 to go from "I wanna" to "done". Most of the delay was my problem because I had to schedule the surgery around business trips. Once I got the OK, (which wasn't that hard because my BMI was over 50), the time flew.... Just think about last years holidays.... seems like they were a few weeks ago not 9 months ago....
Time is relative. I'll keep my fingers crossed that your Journey goes quickly. There are many great resources on these boards. If you want some tricks and tips on how to push things thru with your medical or insurance providers, just ask... someone has probably been there... done that...
Good Luck.

Sheila,
My first Dr's visit was March 3rd and my surgery was last week. This seems to be somewhat par for my surgeon, but only if you make all your appointments and take the first date offered to you, (I was approved on the 7th of July and I made myself available for a July 13th date. My Boss, by the way, was also very accomodating; allowing me to go inspite of the fact that it would leave the company short staffed. I think most people expect 4 - 6 months for this process to run full circle. Good luck with your appointments. I hope they are smooth sailing and you have your date soon.
