I had my surgery on Jan.27,04 and I have only lost 66lbs due to the many pleateaus I have had. I have been journaling since I was last in the hospital due to nausea and vomiting 2 months ago. I have lost only 1 lb since then before I was on a 3 month pleateau, while in the hospital I lost 13 lbs but I was either NPO( nothing by mouth) or on clear liquids for 4 days and before that I couldn't eat for a week and a half due to nausea and vomiting, when ever I tried to eat solid foods. Since I have been journaling I did find out I wasn't getting enough protein and water like I thought I was. I have increased my protein and water but some days I still have trouble getting in enough. My calorie count runs about 7oo- 1000 a day depending on the day.I haven't " cheated" since I had the surgery so I don't understand why I haven't lost more weight than I have. I have increased my exercise routine this week so I hope that will help. I would like to do water areobics but I can't see me in a bathing suit yet. So I am doing machines and walking more. Can anyone give me any ideas to help me? I don't see my doctor and nutristionalist until the 17th of this month.I hate being a slow loser!!!!!!!! Dr. Munshi doesn't think that there is anything wrong losing slowly, he perfers it that way so he says, because it means you will keep it off more likely. But I dont' always believe that, he is just trying to make me feel better. We will see if the increase in exercise will help and increase in protein and water, but sometimes it makes it diffcult to get everything in ,in a day. Thanks for listening I really needed to vent to someone because I really don't have anyone to vent to. Cathie-ann Sorry to hear you have been sick and frustrated, this journey is so hard! But congratulations on 66lbs, that is a lot of weight. Remember, you couldn't have done that before your surgery. I know it is so hard to wait for something you want so badly but you are doing great! Have you been taking measurements? Maybe you are losing inches right now instead of pounds? It doesn't take us one year to get this heavy, so give yourself some time girl, you will get there!

Sounds like all the exercise that your doing is building up muscle tissue and muscle tissue ways more than fat tissue. Don't get frustrated it took us all a long time to gain the weight It will take a while before we reach our goals. Good Luck.......
