Hi everyone - I found out a few weeks ago that Dr Munshi is leaving at the support meeting but have been unable to post due to puter problems . Judy Dowd (the nutritionist) said he is leaving at the end of December '04, and Dr Kuhn (sp?) will be taking over his patients. Judy said that Dr Kuhn has been working with Dr Munshi for 2 years. Does anyone have any experience with Dr Kuhn, as I guess he will be checking up on me? Thanks a bunch . Mea 7/12/04 -71.5 lbs

Oh NO this is truely some bad news. Thank god I had my surgery in June. He was wonderful. Is he moving out of state? or to another hospital? or just not doing this surgery anymore?? Anyway, He will surely be missed at Baystate. -69 lbs, 6/8/04 Mary

Hi Mary - Judy said he is joining a practice in New York. Our loss is NY's gain, I guess . Good luck in your journey . Mea

I didn't know that Dr. Munshi was leaving but I have had the pleasure to have had Dr. Kuhn to care for me. He is very nice and pleasant to deal with. I am going to miss Dr. Munshi but Dr. Kuhn is a nice replacement if we have to lose Dr. Munshi. I think that everyone will find him very pleasant to deal with and he shows a real concern for his patients. Good-bye Dr. Munshi you will be missed! Cathie-ann

I have met with Dr. Kuhn and was under the assumption that he would be assisted by Dr. Munschi, then I heard that he was leaving. Apparently Dr. Kuhn has satisified the number of hours required to perform surgeries on his own. I feel confident that he is compitent. He is very nice and easy on the eyes..lol.

I had originally been referred to Dr. Munshi, and then received a call from Dr. Kuhn's office. I asked him if he was assisting and then advised me that Dr. Munshi was leaving. Judy confirmed it at the next meeting I attended. True that we're losing a good doctor (Munshi) but I feel confident as well that Dr. Kuhn will be another good Baystate doctor. He is very nice, easy to talk to, and you're right Heidi.. he's easy on the eyes as well!! Good luck to all and God Bless

I was the very first patient Dr Munshi operated on in 2000 as a LAP patient. My surgery has failed and I am pursuing a revision.

Gary, I don't know how I would feel being a surgeon's first patient and then having complications like you've suffered. Can you describe what you went through? I understand if you don't want to share your bad experience, but maybe it would shed some light on WLS, which, I understand is not always a success. Either way, my prayers are with you though and I hope things work out for you for the best.
