Keep a close eye on post-op billings...
Just wanted to give a heads up to everyone - keep a very close eye on any post-op bills you may get that your insurance did not cover - we found one bill for $118 that is not ours in the stack, so now we are fighting to have that one removed from our account. It was for tissue samples that were taken during the surgery as part of a study at Boston Medical - that charge should have been covered by the hospital and the study itself. Now on to the fight - I know $118 doesn't seem like much, but if they try to slip other bills in on people, gawd knows what we are paying for. I am just ticked off about it all - sorry

Suggestion: Everyone should be vigilant about medical bills! I have found discrepancies with other hospitals and have found that your insurance company will be more than happy to go to bat with the hosptial for you to correct it. I had Blue Cross make adjustments of over $300 on bills in the past just by having them call the hospital for me. Sometimes, they ended up paying the hospital more, but it didn't come out of my pocket, so I was satisfied. I can't say enough good about Blue Cross customer service. But boo hoo , it is too expensive and my employer is droping them as of 1/1. Thank goodness I had this surgery done now! I imagine my tummy tuck will be coming out of my special bank account though! Unless I can get a job working for Blue Cross!
