Surgery Set for 9/15!!! Need advice.
Hi, I'm so happy I finally finished with the Weight Managment Program and got a surgery date!! Has anyone else had the surgery with Dr. Kasper?? MY best friend did and it went well. Just wondering. Anyways I knew that my husbands family would give me a hard time about haveing this surgery. Any advice on how to deal with negative in-laws?? My family is very supportive.
My husband is so-so. Would be much more supportive if his family was. Please anyone else have this problem???
Just wanted to wish you luck for your upcoming surgery.. I'm not really sure how i'd handle negative people, you see aside from my parents, my bf and a VERY few (handful) of close friends, i told NO ONE about my surgery.... i didnt want to hear their negativity, i knew the risks and i was prepared mentally. i didnt want anyone to bring me down.. i do hope that they come around and rally to support you and your decision! Lots of luck! ~Kim
Hi, I had my surgery on 8/17/04.
The only negative people have beeen my sister-in-law and my younger sister. Always throwing negative comments my way. I ignore them now, because I realize they are probably just scared at how much better I will look to them. I work hard to lose this weight just to shut them up. You hang in there, we need to do what we have to do to be healthy. I am now diabetes free after three weeks and have lost 24lbs great pounds. You will be happy you did it. Good luck on the 15th. Carolyn
P.S. You will have some lousy days just after the surgery, but do not let those negative people know. Always have a smile on when you are around them. You will do great. Bye and good luck.
