How many of you are really exercising? And how soon did you start post-op? I HATE to exercise and am wondering how much it plays into the weight loss. Although, I like to think that if I weren't 300lbs. exercising would be more enjoyable. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I don't, yet but it makes a great deal of difference in your weightloss. It totally makes sense that the increase in calorie expenditure & the lower calorie intake would increase your weight loss. Also, if you are younger, it will help with tightening up the loose skin & increase muscle tone.
Good luck with it.

Hi, there. Exercise is very important...it helps speed up your weightloss and makes you feel good (releases endorphins). I swim everyday cuz I don't like to walk. Plus I'm taking water aerobics...less impact with more resistance. Since I have been able to exercise, I've lost a whole lot more weight than before. Just get moving...it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you do it on a regular basis. And don't try to do too much at first...talk to your doctor about what is best for you. Good luck!

Honestly - I walk twice a week 2 miles each day. Then I ride by stationary bike 25 minutes twice a week. Otherwise the exercise is limited to chasing the kids around and doing extra house work. This is all I have done for now.... I am hoping to get my but out of my office chair once the weather is cooler. I know one the loss slows down I will just have to get up and do more.

Hi,
I started exercised at 4 months post-op. Could of done much sooner, but procrastinated. I'm 6 months out now.
I do aqua-aroebics(sp). Incredible work-out. No sweating and no impact on joints. Its fun, to! I try to go 3 times a week.
I believe everyone post-op is going to lose in the beginning if they follow the rules, even if they are not exercising. But as time moves on and our eating increases and our weight lose slows, it is important to have a good exercise routine in place for the long run - that is to say for life. We all didn't take/or will take, this drastic measure for nothing. Eating right and exercising is the key.
best wishes,
