Hi to all!! I am having lap-band surgery this Friday May 21 and until now have not really looked for support. I am happily married and a stay-at-home Mom of 8 year-old twins and a 4 year-old. I have been overweight all my life. After losing my Mom to cancer 2 years ago I finally decided I needed to do something. So, here I am. Now with only 5 days left I am certainly starting to get nervous. Not so much for the surgery itself but for the downtime that is required afterwards. Is there anyone out there in a similar situation?? Has anyone had the lap-band performed by Dr. czerniach?? And can someone explain what an angel is??? Hope to hear from someone soon, Jill

Hi Jill! How exciting! I had Dr Czerniach do my LAP RNY surgery on 4-12-04 and I can't say enough good things about him. My wife is having the Lap Band surgery a week after you with Dr Cz. SHe is expecting to go back to work on Tuesday, the only issue we are working out is we have a 16 month old who weighs about 25 pounds and there is no heavy lifting for a short time after surgery, so I will be doing all the lifting for a week or two. The diet can be a drag, and you probably will be very sick of Carnation Instant Breakfast pretty quickly, but if you follow the diet to a tee, you should have no problems. Excercising is the key to losing weight, so try to move around alot and the pounds will melt off. An angel is someone *****ports on your condition to everyone else here sort of a point person for when you are in the hospital, and they offer moral support.
