RE: NERVOUS
I had RNY at UMASS 3 weeks ago. You have nothing to worry about, and you will be asleep right through the surgery. Once you wake up, if you are feeling ANY pain, let the nurse know right away! The nurse is your best friend while you are at the hospital. They treated me really well, and I highly recommend that hospital and all the surgeons. The best thing you can do for yourself is to keep a positive attitude, and get plenty of rest. Relax and enjoy the ride.
Hi Denise!
You will have a wonderful success story to share with us. If you weren't nervous, then I would say that something was wrong. LOL. Being nervous is so totally normal. I am having just my 1st initial consult with a different surgeon and I am nervous. Imagine how I'd feel if I was actually having the surgery....LOL. Can you say total basket case...LOL.
You'll be fine and you'll be melting before you can say "WLS". Good Luck to you. I cannot wait until I can have my big day. You are having this surgery to improve your life and your health. You'll do just fine.
