I am 13 days out and I have had an amazing range of emotions. The most perplexing is bouts of amzing grief/sorrow. I do take anti-depressants but this is beyond anything I have felt in a long time. It started when I was 8 days out and now at least once a day (a lot at night) I am sobbing like my best friend just died - what gives? There is no rational reason for these emotions - any guidence?

Any type of surgery willl give your hormones a run for their money. It's likely that but it could be all the stress that builds up as we make the decision to have this surgery & all we do to get on the other side. You've gotten thru it & are well so that's very emotional Hope that helps & hope you're feeling better Donna

It could be any number of things causing this. The first thing that comes to mind though is the loss of food. This is a tough transition you are going through. Do you have any one-on-one support? I know Dr Randall has a support group, but last I checked, it was rather large. Don't let the depression go on too long. You may need a change in meds or dosage. You made it through surgery.....this is the best part....the weight loss. You should be free to enjoy it. Feel free to email me anytime. I live in Haverhill and work in Salem....fairly close by to you.
