Every since I had surgery two weeks ago my left thigh from the knee up has hurt with pins and needles and burning. When I called my doc a week ago they said it was probably just a pinched nerve from the way I was lying on the operating table. I go again tomorrow for my 2 week post op and was just wondering if anyone here experienced this type of pain and does it go away?

It is because of nerve damage but it should resolve. I had it on my left thigh when I had my right hip replaced. With my weight it compressed the nerves enough that there was some damage. I'll tell you though that it took over a year for it to resolve & it's fine now but it is annoying & uncomfortable. It's not how you were on the table because you lie on your back, it's more likely that someone was LEANING on you in such a way for an extended period of time. Of course you'll never get them to admit to that. Good luck Hope that helps Donna
