I am almost two weeks post op and still having some pain in my side that makes it difficult for me to sit, stand or sleep comfortably. I do feel improvement every day. I guess I thought I'd feel better by now. I have no appetite and struggle to get protein down. I am also very thirsty. I have spoken to my doctor and they keep saying "sip" water all day. That I do. I just want to know if anyone else has felt like this. Seems like all the reading I've done on this site, I do not find many who have experienced this much discmfort.

Hi jen I also had alot of pain on my side, it was a torn muscle. I never knew tearing muscle could hurt so much and last so long.

I haven't had surgery yet, but my cousin has. Well, she is about 9 weeks out and is still sore...She says all her soreness is in ONE incision. The one where the scope goes... The pain on your side, could it be sciatica? Maybe you need to stretch your self a little bit? She too had a hard time getting in all her protein. One thing I told her is to make sure you drink your CIB and add just whites to it. That boost up your protein by 6 grams. And as for the thirsty feeling I believe that is normal. She also had a hard time with that. It does go away, but it took hers some time. I'm sorry I can't tell you from my own experience but I know hearing about my cousins will help me deal with my own surgery. Hang in there, this will get better soon. Kelley
