Hi guys, looks like this board is not used too often but I thought I'd reach out and see if anyone is on and looking got meet up. My surgery (revision from Band to Bypass) is happening July 20. When I'm recovering,  I'd love to meet some other post-ops to talk, exercise, etc. let me know if you are out there?!?!

It's unfortunate that this Board is so quiet -- I seldom look here anymore myself.   I had surgery in May 2014 at UMass in Worcester.  They have a great program - I can't say enough about them.  There's also a support group on the Third Thursday of every month at 6:00 at the hospital.

I wish both of you good luck -- feel free to PM me with any questions, etc. -- and post on the Main Boards - you'll get more responses.

Good luck!

Mary

Thanks Mary. I might join you at a support group at UMass some time after surgery! I live in Acton but I grew up in Lancaster, so I know Worcester pretty well. The support groups for my surgeon are okay, but not the best. But they are literally across the street from my office, so I can't complain :)

Hi,

I live in Carlisle, so we are really nearby.  I had my surgery at Lahey in Burlington.  Where did you have your surgery? How did it go?  I hope you are well.

(I should look at this forum more often!)

I think more people would use the board if they knew it existed.  It took me quite awhile to realize there was one seeing that when you look at the Forums Tab it lists other locations such as Mexico but not Massachusetts.  If they had a USA one shown with a drop down for the states it might get more results.

I think most of the State boards are pretty quiet.  It is unfortunate....they're a good resource for learning about local support groups and doctors.  But I'm so thankful I found OH -- so much information and support!
