Hair Loss
I'm 15 weeks post-op from my rny and my hair is falling out in droves!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got really thick dark hair and usually wear it up so I can't really notice the impact all of this loss has taken just yet but... it's alarming the handfulls I clear out of the shower drain, not to mention the stray hairs all over my house
I've been on top of my supplements since day one including 1,000 mg's of biotin daily.
Please assure me this will stop at some point, I'm stariting to freak out that I will completely lose it (my mind and my hair)

I am pre-op and this is my biggest worry, since I have fine hair and shed like crazy ANYWAY!! I even had a nightmare that I had a whole ponytail just up & leave my head.
I obviously have no experience but everyone I've talked to said this does indeed pass. Hopefully it will be quick & easy for you!!

mine fell out from month 2.5 to month 7 or 8. No one ever noticed, except me of course! I cut it short cuz the long strands in the tub made me crazy (and I'm not afraid of short hair, some people would rather die).
Not only did mine stop falling out and start growing back, but it grew back CURLY. no joke. doesn't happen to lots of people, but it does happen, and it happened to me. Now I have shoulder length curly hair. who knew?
Fear not, you will be fine. it's just scary as all get out.

It's normal and lasts for about 3 months ...so the "rule" is pretty much if it starts at 3 months, expect it to last till 6 months post op ...or if it were to happen at 6 months post op, expect it to last till 9 months post op. And so on....
I did lose a lot but never took any extra vitamins. The biotin was too big for me to swallow (I am the worse pill taker) ....so I chopped my hair short and kept a short cut for a while. It's now way past my shoulders again and growing out and pretty much back to normal.
